Short codes
are 5 or 6 digit number by which wireless subscribers can deal text messages, regardless of their wireless service provider. Due to short codes, people can easily remember it and compatible across all participating carriers. Short Codes has no different than a website url does in internet world in driving to end users to a common method of interaction. Step 1 : Develop your messaging application
Develop your application, make sure your application follow all opt-in, opt-out, and other guidelines provided by us carriers. Short code costs in USA
If you are planning to register your short code in USA, the following charges will be applied:
- US$1000 per month for vanity short codes.
- US$500 per month for random short codes.
All above fees are up-front and they must be paid fully upon singing up to any of those programs. The fees are non-refundable regardless of whether any wireless carriers agree to activate your short code.

Short Code Provisioning Services
The process to register and activate a short code with carriers is complex and time consuming. For that reason, Wire2air provides these services to its clients and can lease, provision and activate short codes with carriers throughout North America (United States and Canada).
While clients can registered a short code with neustar and not connect it to a carrier, in order to send/receive traffic through the short code, the code must be provisioned. The provisioning process consists of several complex parts that must be done in order and per current carrier guidelines to achieve approval on each carrier.
